As a trilingual tour guide, I particularly enjoy showing visitors around Saintes. This small town, bisected by the meandering Charente River, is brimming with treasures! Its Gallo-Roman amphitheater, nestled in a natural setting, its unique Romanesque churches, its Gothic cathedral with its distinctive profile, and its 19th-century villas, reflecting the golden age of cognac.
